In Jeremiah 18, we read of God directing Jeremiah to go down to the potter’s house. As Jeremiah observes the potter at work, God encourages him to think about what he is seeing and how the work can be applied to God’s people. It is a beautiful passage that reminds us that God wants to form us into something beautiful.
It is the rare person who is not concerned about the events unfolding in Syria and other parts of our world. As people of faith and prayer, we cannot ignore these situations, regardless of what we believe needs to happen. Ultimately, we pray that God’s way can surface and be accepted. Please come join your prayers with ours. Obviously, even the most opinionated or even the most knowledgeable among us do not have all the answers. That is God’s realm. Yet, we can come together and remind one another that God is still molding us and lifting us. Together, we can remember the call to be willing clay in God’s hands.
Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand. Jeremiah 18:6
